In addition to being a graphic designer, I’m a working mother to two small children. Life is messy, so it was easy to find inspiration for this magazine cover project. The prompt was to create a cover for a fictional magazine. I enjoy drawing from my personal experience for projects, so I came up with a fictional magazine catered to REAL moms (not the put together, glamorous moms you see on magazines today) MESSY MOMMY. During my creative process, I polled local moms to get their ideas for article titles. In Adobe Photoshop I made my stock photo especially messy by adding a baby blowout and giving mom a peek-a-boo coffee mug. In this project file you’ll see the original stock photo, along with a working mock-up of the magazine.
